    Hi, i’m TAWNY.

    Tawny Chestnut, LMFT

I believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to be fully ourselves – messy feelings, stuck moments, and all. My job is to create that kind of space for you: one where you feel seen, heard, and supported as you grow into the version of yourself that feels most true and joyful.

Therapy isn’t always a straight line. Some days it may feel like progress, and other days it might feel like starting over. That’s okay. Every step, forward or backward, is part of your unique process. I’ll be with you through it, helping you notice what’s working, build on your strengths, and gently shift the things that no longer serve you.

I work with individuals facing all kinds of life challenges – stress, anxiety, depression, big transitions, grief, relationship struggles, and those hard-to-name feelings that leave you feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I also have a tremendous amount of experience supporting first responders and their families, understanding the deep emotional toll that work can take. If you’re navigating pregnancy, new parenthood, or the ups and downs of postpartum life, I offer a space that honors how complex and tender that season can be.

Before I became a therapist, I started out as a teacher. I loved helping students learn…and I quickly realized that behind every lesson plan was a human being who needed more than just academics. That’s what brought me into the world of counseling. I wanted to support people more fully – not just in what they do, but in who they are.

I’ve worked in schools and now in private practice. Along the way, I’ve supported people through all sorts of life transitions – big ones, quiet ones, heartbreaking ones, and beautiful ones. I’ve helped first responders and their families carry what they’re holding. I’ve walked alongside new parents figuring out who they are again. I’ve sat with people in grief, in burnout, and in deep uncertainty. And I’ve seen, over and over again, that there is always a way forward.
My style is warm, supportive, and real. I’ll show up with curiosity, compassion, and sometimes a little humor to help you reconnect with your strength, your clarity, and your hope. I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
